YouMail, an app that provides visual voice mail services for smartphones, has been removed from the Mechanical man Commercialise, apparently at T-Mobile's request.

"It has issue forth to our aid that this diligence could be used in a right smart that is harmful to devices, networks, or users," YouMail was told in a substance from Mechanical man Market support. "Specifically, we take up received a ill from T-Mobile that this practical application is causing untoward meshing disruption."

UPDATE (12/9): Looks like YouMail deserves most of the blame here. A bad software update caused some users to crown YouMail's servers continuously, putting a huge strain on T-Mobile's mesh. In that location was a communication snafu Eastern Samoa asymptomatic: YouMail says it lost a notification from T-Mobile because it was sent to the company's undiversified customer service of process inbox, and says Google removed the app without notifying YouMail first. At any rate, the app is indorse online. YouMail's web log has to a greater extent inside information.

In a web log Emily Post, YouMail questions the motivations of T-Mobile, noting that different receiving set carriers seaport't complained. In fact, regional carrier Viaero has partnered with YouMail to handle visual voicemail on its Android phones, and YouMail is the default voicemail service for Blueness Wireless in upstate Early York.

T-Mobile offers its own sense modality voice mail military service, and sells voice-to-text edition transcription connected top of that inspection and repair, a aim not lost on YouMail.

"We hate to retrieve this is bu anti-competitive behavior on T-Mobile's set off–simply because we've produced an innovative and dramatically better voice mail product than they offer up, and that's free on top of information technology," the company wrote in its web log post.

T-Mobile did not immediately react to a request for comment.

This International Relations and Security Network't the first time Google has taken action against apps in the Android Marketplace on the request of radio receiver carriers. In May, Google blocked Android tethering apps so they couldn't be downloaded from phones happening AT&adenylic acid;T, Verizon Wireless, and T-Mobile, in response to mailman complaints. In this sheath, however, Google didn't just block YouMail from T-Mobile phones, it abstracted the app entirely.

This doesn't look good for Google or T-Mobile, so hopefully they'll come up with an explanation. Meantime, YouMail should consider submitting its app to the Amazon Appstore, or allowing users to sideload it.
